EMILIO AGUILAR is a mixed media artist and metalsmith, focused on the exploration of alteration of  materials and mark making.

 

He currently works out of El Paso, where he was born and raised. Emilio attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas before transferring to the University of Texas at El Paso where he will be graduating with a BFA in Metals and Drawing in Spring 2022. 

 

Emilio Aguilar's work investigates mark making through the use of unconventional drawing methods. These methods are referred to as experiments as there is no expected outcome. Human error, materials' natural physical processes, and mere chance are all key elements playing a role in his investigations.
